GC Tuning – Terms & Conditions

All services provided by GC Tuning & Performance are subject to the following terms and conditions. By booking or receiving any service, you agree to these terms.

1. Vehicle Condition

• All vehicles must be in safe, roadworthy, and mechanically sound condition before any remap, service, or repair is carried out.
• The owner is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is properly maintained and for disclosing any pre-existing faults.
• GC Tuning reserves the right to refuse service if faults are identified that may affect the outcome of the work.
• If a vehicle develops faults during or after a remap/service due to pre-existing issues, GC Tuning accepts no liability.

Before any remap, software work, or service, it’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure the vehicle is in good mechanical condition.

Older or high-mileage vehicles can often have underlying faults or worn components — such as tired injectors, weak turbos, oil contamination, sensor faults, or blocked DPF/EGR systems — that may not always be obvious until additional performance is requested from the engine.

While GC Tuning performs standard pre-checks where possible, we cannot inspect or diagnose every component in depth.

If a vehicle develops faults during or after a remap/service due to pre-existing issues, poor maintenance, or wear and tear, GC Tuning accepts no liability for any resulting problems, damage, or repair costs.

We strongly recommend that any suspected issues are repaired before tuning or software modifications are carried out to ensure reliability and performance.

2. Mobile Services

• For mobile visits, a call-out charge may apply even if no work is completed (e.g. due to vehicle faults, unsuitable conditions, or customer unavailability).
• The customer must provide a safe and suitable location for work to be carried out (flat surface, adequate space, no obstructions). GC Tuning reserves the right to leave if conditions are unsuitable, with call-out fees still chargeable.

3. Diagnostics & Testing

• GC Tuning may carry out diagnostic checks before or after a remap or service. These are limited and not a substitute for a full mechanical inspection.
• Road tests may be carried out where necessary. The customer accepts this as part of the service and confirms their insurance covers such use.
• GC Tuning is not responsible for uncovering every potential fault or weakness.

4. Requested Solutions

• Services will be carried out as requested by the customer.
• GC Tuning may refuse to carry out solutions deemed unsuitable or unsafe.
• We are not responsible for further work required after the chosen solution (e.g. physical removals, blanking plates, or additional modifications).
• Certain solutions (e.g. pops & bangs, limiter removals) are for off-road/show use only. The customer accepts full responsibility for road use legality.

5. Liability & Data

• GC Tuning accepts no responsibility for loss of radio codes, stored data, or ECU software from previous tuners.
• Any reading or writing of ECU software by another party will invalidate any warranty or guarantee offered by GC Tuning.
• GC Tuning reserves the right to refuse service at our discretion.
• We are not responsible for third-party costs (towing, recovery, replacement vehicles, garage labour, etc.) under any circumstances.

6. Performance Figures

• All quoted power and torque gains (BHP/Nm) are approximate and may vary between vehicles, dynos, and conditions.
• Figures are estimates based on manufacturer data, engine condition, and tuning software.

7. Insurance & Legal

• GC Tuning is fully insured for both vehicle and public liability. Insurance claims will only be considered for genuine, verifiable issues caused directly by our work.
• Customers are responsible for informing their own insurance provider of any ECU remap or modification.
• GC Tuning accepts no liability for:
• Death, personal injury, or accidents.
• Loss of earnings or use of the vehicle.
• Mechanical or electrical failures (including but not limited to turbos, clutches, flywheels, injectors, DPFs, sensors, or engine internals).
• Legal claims resulting from modifications, tuning, or emissions system changes.
• No warranty is provided on vehicle components following any service or remap.
• Customers acknowledge that tuning places additional stress on vehicle components. Failures after a remap are usually the result of underlying wear, not the remap itself.

8. MOT & Emissions Disclaimer

• Any service that alters, disables, or removes emissions control systems (e.g. DPF, EGR, AdBlue, swirl flaps, catalytic converters) may cause the vehicle to fail its MOT or other emissions testing.
• GC Tuning accepts no liability for MOT failures, fines, or legal consequences arising from emissions systems being tampered with at the customer’s request.
• The customer is fully responsible for ensuring the vehicle remains compliant with local laws and MOT standards.

9. Refunds & Payments

• All payments are due upon completion of work, unless finance has been arranged with an approved partner.
• Finance agreements may incur additional fees of 9–20% depending on the service.
• Refunds are issued solely at the discretion of GC Tuning.
• Reverting a vehicle to its original software is a chargeable service, starting from £40.
• A £30 non-refundable booking fee may be required to secure an appointment.
• If the customer is not present at the agreed time/location, call-out fees and booking fees remain non-refundable.

10. Booking Terms

• GC Tuning may cancel, postpone, or reschedule any booking if necessary.
• Offered dates are held for 24 hours only unless confirmed with a booking fee.
• By paying the booking fee, you agree it is non-refundable even if the booking date is changed.
• A 7-day cooling-off period applies from the date of payment. Refunds (if applicable) will be processed within 90 days.

11. Changes to Terms

GC Tuning reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The most up-to-date version will always apply.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a service, paying a deposit, or confirming an appointment with GC Tuning, you agree that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions in full.
